Introduction to MIRA-CAP® Starch
Also known as
MIRA-CAP Starch, MIRA-CAP®

Our MIRA-CAP® lipophilic maize starch range includes both non-GMO and traditional products. MIRA-CAP® is used in dry flavours and bioactive ingredients to provide emulsification and encapsulations, specifically in systems that are spray dried. This starch can be used in a variety of applications including bakery frosting, pies, beverage mixes, nutritional and low-calorie beverages, in addition to soft and hard confectionery.

MIRA-CAP® starches do not require heating to disperse in water; they are very low in viscosity and are used to facilitate the fine dispersion of oil into water to form stable emulsions.  These emulsions, which typically contain flavours, are subsequently spray-dried to produce powders.  The powder, with its encapsulated flavor and oil, is readily used in a range of foods and beverages.

At Tate & Lyle, our texturants range now offers a comprehensive array of non-GMO offerings for all regions, providing our customers with choices to fit their needs. Our non-GMO ingredients offer the same functionality as their traditional counterparts without compromising on taste or texture. Meaning you can offer your consumers the foods and beverages they love with a label they can understand and trust.
