Tate & Lyle’s SPLENDA® Sucralose plant in Singapore earns a fourth consecutive ‘A’ grading for Food Safety Excellence

| Filed in:

Tate & Lyle's SPLENDA® Sucralose plant in Singapore has been awarded ‘A’ grade status, the highest grade possible, from the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority (AVA) of Singapore for the fourth consecutive year. This result was achieved during AVA’s annual food safety audit and continues the plant’s outstanding record since it began operations in 2007.

All food processing facilities in Singapore are categorised by the AVA Food Safety Excellence Scheme using four grades − A (Excellent), B (Good), C (Average) and D (Pass) − which are based on compliance with strict hygiene and food safety standards.

To ensure that customers always receive a product of consistent quality and of the highest purity standards, Tate & Lyle’s SPLENDA® Sucralose plant operates a zero defect policy, using a 50 point in-process checking system, supported by focused service, absolute traceability and on-going security of supply.

“Grade A status acknowledges our team’s total commitment to industry excellence and we are proud to have achieved the highest grade every year since our first audit” said Jim Cornelissen, Plant Manager of the SPLENDA® Sucralose plant in Singapore. “The A grading reflects our continuously improving quality procedures and recognises our exemplary production methods.”

James Blunt, Senior Vice President, Product Management and Marketing, Speciality Food Ingredients adds, “At Tate & Lyle we aim to deliver the highest possible level of quality at all stages of the production and the supply chain. This recognition by the AVA is further evidence of our investment in quality and product integrity, and shows our customers that SPLENDA® Sucralose continues to set the benchmark for quality and purity.”
