Developing clean labelling for a creamy soup

One of our global customers, a bakery-café chain across the US and Canada, was looking for a clean-label solution for their naturally positioned soups.

Creamy soup

They wanted to develop a clean label broccoli cheddar soup that still offered the same smooth, velvety texture that was a firm favourite with their consumers. We knew that our CLARIA® Plus, part of our CLARIA® Functional Clean Label Starch range, provided the perfect solution, offering a neutral colour and taste with the added benefit of clean labelling.

Our CLARIA® Plus Functional Clean Label Starch provided the perfect solution, offering a neutral colour and taste with the added benefit of clean labelling.

We partnered with our customer’s R&D, marketing and nutrition teams to help them understand the science behind CLARIA® Plus. The customer visited our Applications labs in Chicago, US, where we involved them in the development process with our Texture scientists. We then worked with the customer in their own facility to evaluate which variables would be affected during the soup’s production process.

In the end, we helped our customer bring an extraordinary soup to the market that was not only creamy, but also offered cleaner labelling without sacrificing taste.
