Our THIN-N-THIK® Starch line includes both non-GMO and traditional variants.

THIN-N-THIK® Starch is a maize starch designed for use in a wide variety of retorted and aseptically processed foods, in both acid and neutral systems.  THIN-N-THIK® Starch is characterised by a controlled thin-to-thick viscosity change that occurs during retorting. Relatively thin throughout filling and cooking, it attains a desired thick viscosity before the retorting cycle is completed. This property allows rapid heat penetration and, in most applications, requires less retort time to achieve a given sterilisation value (FO).

Fully cooked dispersions of THIN-N-THIK® Starch are heavy, short-flow pastes with smooth, creamy textures. They exhibit good clarity and sheen with bland, clean flavours.  THIN-N-THIK® has excellent freeze-thaw and shelf life stability, being highly resistant to breakdown or setback under severe processing conditions or during extended storage.  THIN-N-THIK® Starch may be used in all types of neutral and low acid aseptic products, such as puddings, sauces and gravies.
